Montenegro’s footballers drew 2–2 with Armenia in a friendly match played this evening in Nikšić.

The match at the City Stadium will be remembered for the goals by Vasilije Adžić and Andrija Bulatović, youngsters expected to be the backbone of the “Brave Falcons,” as well as for Stevan Jovetić’s record. Tonight, the captain became the player with the most appearances for the Montenegro national team – 87.

Before Jovetić stepped onto the pitch, Adžić and Bulatović were already, as debutants, showing part of their repertoire. After Armenia’s shocking lead and Eduard Spertsyan’s goal in the 26th second of the match, the young Montenegro midfielders turned the score around.

In the 5th minute, Adžić scored with a header from a cross by Marko Vukčević, after which Montenegro started to play more offensively, but there were not many clear chances in front of the visitors’ goal.

The opening phase of the second half brought a move highlighted by Bulatović and Adžić. The Juventus player, with the outside of his boot, found Milutin Osmajić, who passed the ball to Andrija Radulović, and he set up Bulatović for a routine finish.

Towards the end of the match Armenia threatened several times and then equalised, again through Spertsyan, this time from a free kick.

Almost a three‑month break now follows, after which the “Falcons” face September challenges in the form of matches against Czechia in Podgorica and Croatia in Zagreb.
