The Montenegrin football team is preparing for the continuation of the World Cup qualifiers.
The away match against the Faroe Islands is very important, despite the fact that the "Falcons" have lost their chances of securing one of the top two spots in the group.
- We are not shaken or discouraged, nor have we lost motivation even though we are out of contention for the World Cup. We are pleased to have a new coach, who was previously an assistant on the coaching staff. I believe he can help us a lot, especially us young players; we must use every training session to absorb what he asks of us and when we go out on the field to put it into action. There is much to learn from him, and every day with the new coach is important, said Milan Vukotić in today’s conversation with journalists.
The players are well-acquainted with Vučinić, who was an assistant to Miodrag Radulović and later to Robert Prosinečki.
- We have been cooperating excellently with Mirko so far, having a relationship as if we were teammates. Now he is the coach, there will be new demands and changes in play, but that should not burden us; we just need to give 100 percent of our capabilities to present ourselves in the best way possible, emphasized our midfielder.
The Partizan player reflected on the upcoming challenge for the "Falcons."
- The Faroe Islands are a strong and solid team, but we must aim for three points. The match will not be easy at all, with different weather conditions and an artificial surface, which we do not encounter in club competitions. Nevertheless, it is up to us to give our best to secure the three points, explained Vukotić.
The roster for the duel in Tórshavn includes many young players.
- We strive to improve and be better than before, to perform every training session to the maximum and improve in all aspects of the game. And to give the fans and the public in Montenegro the right to see in us those who can change some things and bring to the national team something it hasn’t achieved in the past or something it’s been lacking, Vukotić stated.
