The "Falcons" completed their final training before the sixth round of World Cup qualifiers...

The senior national team of Montenegro trained this evening at Torsvollur Stadium ahead of the match against the Faroe Islands. Coach Mirko Vučinić's players conducted an hour of work on the artificial turf while facing exceptionally strong winds, making their final preparations ahead of tomorrow’s clash against an opponent they defeated in March's meeting in Nikšić.

Before the training, coach Vučinić answered questions from media representatives and emphasized that the role of the coach is significantly different.

- Given that we have a small pool of players, we will certainly miss a player of Vukotić's caliber and what he shows at Partizan. However, we need to know and get used to the fact that the national team does not depend on one player. We should be a group, functioning as a family—all as one. Those who perform best in training will play. Those who are currently missing are important to us, but I’m not complaining about the players available to me, said Head coach of our National team.

When asked about the system in which our national team will play, the "Falcons" coach emphasizes that there is no perfect setup; rather, it is essential what the players on the field demonstrate in the formation set at that moment.

- I don't lean towards just one system because there is no perfect system or formation. If there were an ideal one, everyone would play in the same formation. What matters is what the actors in that setup show in the formation they play. I repeatedly state how important desire and will are, Vučinić added.

Regarding the role of Vasilije Adžić, Coach Vučinić highlighted that the young midfielder of our national team is extremely talented and capable of stepping out of the system to create magic for the team.

- Adžić is a talented player, knows a lot with the ball, but in today’s football, you must play in both directions. I saw in the last match of Juventus that he worked hard and ran a lot; for his efforts, he was rewarded with a fantastic goal against Inter. He is important for our national team, but not just him, all players are. It is clear that he is a player who can step out of the system and create magic, deliver an assist, or score a goal, said the "Falcons" coach.

When asked about the goalkeeper of our team, Vučinić was clear—the decision on the goalkeeper, in whom he has full trust, is up to Božidar Vuksanović.

- Vuksanović takes care of the goalkeepers. We have worked together in the coaching staff for several years; he is a great professional and a person with vast experience. He has a good sense, so regarding the goalkeeper, I sleep soundly. Whoever he decides on, I won’t interfere, Vučinić added.

The coach emphasizes that victory in tomorrow’s match is all that interests him and what will satisfy him.

- For me, it would be catastrophic if we don’t win. We must aim for victory in every match. We haven’t celebrated in three matches, and when there are no victories, confidence drops, and the atmosphere crumbles, whether we want to admit it or not. In such situations, unrest and nervousness enter the equation, and I have insisted that players must only think about winning. The result is very important. I'm only interested in the Faroe Islands; I'm not thinking about the fact that we don’t have a chance for the World Cup. I just want the players to give their maximum, and if the Faroese are better, we will congratulate them. But we must do everything to win," concluded Vučinić.

The captain of our national team, Stefan Savić, hopes that all the players will meet the expectations of the new coach in tomorrow’s match.

- We all, my generation and the others, grew up with Mirko; he was an idol to all of us, someone we looked up to from day one. We know each other quite well; we have shared the field, and when I played in Italy, we were rivals. I am pleased to have the opportunity to work together in his new role. He knows the team well, and there are no problems regarding adaptation. I hope we can meet his expectations and show what we have worked on in the past days, said Savić.

The captain of the "Falcons" reassures that, even though the chances for World Cup qualification are slim, motivation is not lacking.

- We have great motivation and can’t wait for the match to start. We have been working with the new coach for several days, and there is a positive energy that is evident in training. Unpleasant results are behind us, and we will try to correct that. We will do everything to win three points. It would mean a lot to break the negative streak, but it won’t be easy; no one here on the Faroe Islands has played much. The surface is tough, it's artificial turf, and we are not used to that. But we have prepared well enough, and I believe we will break the negative streak, concluded Savić.

The match between the Faroe Islands and Montenegro will take place on Thursday, October 9, starting at 19:45 local time.
